Description

Juicy steak rubbed in spices and served with a fresh herb chimmichurri.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE STEAK:
  • ½ teaspoons Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Cumin
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Coriander
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 whole (1.2 Pound Size) Steaks (about 1/2 Inch Thick)
  • FOR THE CHIMMICHURRI:
  • 1 Tablespoon Chives
  • 2 Tablespoons Cilantro
  • 2 Tablespoons Parsley
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Roughly Chopped
  • ¼ whole Shallot, Roughly Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

Preparation

1. Preheat a grill pan or grill to medium high. Preheat oven to 400 F. In a small bowl, combine all the spices for the steak.
2. Rub spices evenly on both sides of each steak. Once grill pan is hot (smoking slightly), place both steaks on for 3 minutes per side (6 minutes total).
3. Once steaks are seared, place them on a rimmed baking sheet and put it in the oven for 3 minutes (for medium rare steak). If you want a more medium to medium well, keep in the oven for 5 minutes total. Remove from oven. Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
4. Meanwhile make the chimmichurri. Add all ingredients to a food processor and pulse until evenly combined.
5. Serve chimmichurri over the steak. Enjoy!
