Description

Stroganoff is one of my favorite comfort foods. If you are short on time this is a great recipe to go to. It may not be the real version but it tastes just as good. I like to serve this over rice but you can always serve it over the traditional egg noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • ½ cups Onion, Chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • ¼ cups Butter, Cut In Cubes
  • 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 1-½ teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Seasoned Pepper
  • 10-⅜ ounces, weight Can Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • Fresh Or Dried Parsley For Garnish
  • Cooked Rice, To Serve

Preparation

Brown beef in a large skillet. Once beef has browned, add onion, garlic, and butter. Cook until onion becomes translucent. Add flour, garlic salt, and seasoned pepper. Turn heat down to low and cook for 5 minutes.

Add soup and cover skillet with a lid. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Add sour cream and heat through. Sprinkle with fresh or dried parsley.

Serve over rice.

This dish is easy to make and warm to the soul. I left out the flour and butter, I thought even after I drained the grease from the hamburger that it had enough grease in it and it was plenty thick. We served it over mashed potatoes. It would be good over rice or noodles as well. Thanks for sharing a good recipe that is quick and filling. I will make this again. My husband loved it.
