Description

This is my grandma’s recipe for meatloaf that quickly became my husband’s favorite. It makes awesome sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • MEATLOAF INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 pounds Ground Beef (80/20 Is Great)
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ½ cups Bread Crumbs
  • ⅛ teaspoons Pepper
  • ½ cups Milk
  • 1 whole Egg, Beaten
  • _____
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ cups Ketchup
  • ¼ cups Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Onion (I Use Dried)

Preparation

Combine the meatloaf ingredients and gently press into a loaf pan. Mix the remaining sauce ingredients in a bowl and pour over the meatloaf.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 90 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes and remove from the pan, slice and serve.

It is great cold, in a sandwich the next day.

I forgot to mention, if you use dried bread crumbs, rather than fresh bread crumbs, increase your milk a little bit. It does get dry with dried one. I pulse the crusts from bread and left over pieces in the food processor and then store in a zipper bag in the freezer, then I always have fresh ones on hand.

I love this recipe! Not only do adults love it but my one year old twin boys love it so much I have to worry about them shoving their mouths too full. It is fast easy and delicious.

This was a tasty meatloaf I think mainly due to the milk. I substituted oats for the breadcrumbs which may have added to it being moist. The sauce was a little sweet on top but had good flavor.

I love the sauce on this, it was very yummy. The inside was a bit dry, but overall a good variation from my regular meatloaf recipe.

Yum! This was so tasty tht I am afraid there may not be much for sandwiches tomorrow! Loved the sauce on the top…..guess it’s curtains for my mom’s old ‘Ann Landers’ recipe! Thank you!!

Made this for dinner tonight. Added a little more milk as used dry bread crumbs.
Daughter, husband, and myself all loved it!! Can’t wait to have leftover sandwich for lunch tomorrow!
