I know there’s 8,653 recipes out there for chocolate chip cookies. But I wouldn’t have posted this if it wasn’t ACTUALLY the bestttt coookie recippeee known to man. For real. People will offer you their children in return for some.
It also makes enough for an army, or a very hungry husband, so I like to make pre-made dough balls, put them in a Ziploc bag in the freezer, and pull the dough out when I need fresh cookies fast.
You could also add 1 cup oatmeal, or coconut, or pecans, or ALL three for a REAL Texas cowboy cookie!
Preheat oven to 365F.
Cream together butter and shortening. Add sugars and cream thoroughly.
Add eggs one at a time. Mix thoroughly after each addition, then add your vanilla. Next, combine your dry ingredients in another bow and add all your dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, one cup at a time. Don’t over mix. Finally add your chocolate chips or other favorite add ins.
Place spoon fulls of the batter onto your parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 11-14 minutes. Mmmmm.

Made these again today with the addition of a cup of coconut and a cup of oatmeal, and I used miniature semi sweet chips rather than the normal ones. What a great cookie! I think they’re even better than before if that’s possible!

They are a little crunchy around the edges, but chewy inside. I take them out a little early too, and they crack and stay chewy…mmmmm. But if you prefer a crispy cookie, bake them longer!

I’m curious about the texture of these cookies. They look soft like a muffin top. Are they chewy or crunchy? (They look good!)
