Description

A gooey, chewy, peanut-buttery cookie pie with festive M&M candies.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Butter, Melted
  • ¼ cups Plus 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 cup Plus 2 Tablespoons, All-purpose Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 4 whole Egg
  • 1 whole Egg Yolk
  • 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter M&M Candies, Or Other Mix-in Of Choice)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325ºF. Grease a 9-inch round pie plate.

Add the butter and peanut butter to a large microwave bowl and melt. Set aside to cool.

In a medium bowl, mix oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

When the butter and peanut butter are cooled completely, mix in the sugars until combined. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla and mix well. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in the candies.

Spread dough into the prepared pan and bake for 30-34 minutes. The edges will be just browned and the center will be slightly firm but not fully set. Don’t overbake! Let cool completely before cutting.

Cassie’s notes:
If you don’t have old-fashioned oats, quick-cooking will work wonderfully. I just prefer the texture of old-fashioned.
This dough can easily be made into cookies. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a prepared baking sheet and bake for 11-13 minutes.
If you don’t have a round pie plate, use any square baking dish and cut into square pieces.
