Description

A great no-bake dessert for summer.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup Nilla Wafers, Crushed Finely
  • 1-¼ cup Sugar, Divided
  • ⅓ cups Butter Or Margarine, Melted
  • 16 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Room Temperature
  • 28 ounces, weight Crushed Pineapples, Well Drained
  • 4 whole Bananas
  • 2 cups Cold Milk
  • 5-½ ounces, weight Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • ¼ cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans

Preparation

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together cookie crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan. Beat together remaining sugar and cream cheese until well mixed. Carefully spread over cookie crust. Top with pineapple. Slice bananas and layer over the pineapple.

In another bowl mix together cold milk and vanilla pudding and set aside. In a large bowl, beat together whipping cream, vanilla and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Remove 1 cup of whipped cream and mix into the pudding. Layer pudding over the bananas.

Spread remaining whipped cream over the pudding and sprinkle with pecans. Chill for 5 hours before serving.

This is my favorite cake. A friend of mine makes the crust with crushed Pecan Sandies cookies.

I made this for Mother’s day and took it to our family dinner. It was an absolute hit. Even a few of my family members who don’t like bananas ate it, and loved it.

I made this for Mother’s Day lunch. Oh my goodness!!! It was wonderful. You can use low calorie ingredients in all of it and it still tastes wonderful.

I make one very similar, but take even cheaper shortcuts — a large whipped topping (like Cool Whip) and slices of bakery-bought pound cake. Perfect for my son’s choir dinners.

We top ours with cherries and chocolate syrup!

I love this fancier version, tho, for dinners where I need to take a great dessert that adults will love!

Yum! I added sliced strawberries after topping with the pineapple and then the bananas, since I had some in the fridge. I did also use half Nilla Wafers and half Graham Crackers since my children ate almost all of the Nilla Wafers I bought. Worked out great! Great recipe I will definitely use again!

I make a similar banana split desert. I use graham crackers for the crust. My husband and kids love this desert and can’t get enough of it. Very refreshing!

My husband said “the best dessert he thinks he’s ever had”. I loved it. I did add sliced strawberries and maraschino cherry juice to the cream cheese mixture. I also topped it with enough cherries each piece got at least one!
