These are really easy to make, and so delicious. I’m a big funnel cake fan, and this recipe delivers.
The only thing that’s a little tricky is just getting the hang of drizzling the batter into the oil, and making sure the oil is hot enough to cook and crisp the funnel cakes, but not so hot that the cake will immediately burn.
Hot Oil: Keep the pan on one of the back burners if you have little kids!

These were fantastic and so easy to make! They were just like funnel cakes I ate at the fair as a kid. I am so excited to be able to make these at home now!

Awesome and so easy to make! The recipe makes several, I fed 6 “big” people, and 1 squirt at my house, plus sent 2 cakes over to the neighbors house. I bought a stainless funnel with a removable strainer at Rural King that works very well for drizzling the batter. I poured 1/2 c. batter through and held my finger over the end until I had the funnel positioned where I wanted it. These fry very quickly at the recommended temp. so make sure you don’t have the oil too hot. My taste buds are thankful for this recipe; my jeans–not so much!

We loved this recipe. Perfect funnel cakes. Of course, I struggled getting the oil the right temp & pouring the batter. Didn’t matter, they tasted great anyway.
We ate ours with chocolate chips. I’ve also had them before with strawberries.

loved these! we easily fed 25 people with ‘individual’ size cakes. used the outdoor turkey deep fryer and it was perfect!! The kiddos at the party loved them (so did the adults!)

We seem to have these evey time we go to Gatlinburg, TN with our family. They are soooooooooo good! My favorite way is to pour butterscotch icecream topping over top and eat with fresh squeezed lemonade. wow, I could eat one right now!! thanks for posting!!

I made these after reading about them on PW blog. They are wonderful. I had plenty of leftover batter so I saved it for the next morning. I added a bit more baking soda and baking powder and made yummy waffles. Thanks for a great dessert and a good breakfast!

Just made these for a Monday night treat and all looked and smelled good until we tasted them. My kids had so much fun making the batter that while I went to heat the oil, they added 1/2 CUP salt not the 1/2 tsp! Fried salt lick anyone? We’re in the process of making the second batch and I’m sure they’ll be great. Used an empty squirt bottle and had lots of control with my salty batter.

This were delicious and it only took me like 10 minutes from start to finish. I didn’t have a funnel at the time so I used a cake decorators bag and tip #12. I think I might add some extra sugar to the batter, and more vanilla, but that’s just personal preference. They were really good!!!

I tried this today after seeing you featured on PW’s site and my family loved them! I was told they were better than the ones bought at Busch Gardens in VA, or at the local county fair….they even said I should start selling them…now that’s what I call a compliment! You can be sure these will be made often in my house….
