This is a vegetarian-version of a recipe I submitted earlier. I’m told it’s not the same, but a meat-eater said they were good in their own right!
Some vegetarians shy away from “fake meat,” but some enjoy it! It’s important to know who you’re working with and what the particular vegetarian’s preference is prior to making these!
You may want to add a dash of cayenne pepper to the “fausage”, as I find it to not be very spicy.
First, preheat your oven to broil.
Then complete the following:
1) Grease your pan with your favorite type of oil, as “fake meat” has no oils to release and aid with cooking.
2) Cut dates lengthwise
3) Stuff with “fausage”
4) Wrap in “facon”
5) Arrange in any size greased glass pan you like
Bake for approximately 10 minutes, though time may differ depending on your oven. Make sure to keep an eye on them, turn them over halfway through cooking.
Allow to cool. Then devour!! : )
