Have friends and family who don’t like tofu, but want to get some of that protein rich goodness into their meals? Try this very easy, tasty method to prepare tofu-flavored pillows that have converted all my former tofu-haters to long-time tofu lovers!
This tofu is so versatile. I’ve used it in salads, stir fries, stews, soups, or just on its own. The final product is a lovely bite that is slightly crispy on the outside, soft and thick on the inside, with a nice light flavor to it. When you throw it in other dishes, it will act like a little sponge and soak up all the yumminess of your dish as well!
1. Remove the block of tofu from the container and give it a quick press to squeeze out excess water. Blot with a paper towel.
2. Cut into bite-size blocks. I tend to evenly slice up the tofu block.
3. Heat up a nonstick pan with the olive oil to medium high. Dash the garlic salt and pepper in the pan.
4. After pan is hot, about 5 minutes, toss the tofu into the pan and rearrange with chopsticks so that the largest surface area is touching the pan.
5. Leave the pan alone for 5 minutes.
6. Check on the tofu undersides. They should be nicely browned. If not, let it sit a few more minutes.
7. Dash more garlic salt and pepper on the tops of the tofu.
8. Flip the tofu over to the uncooked side and cook for another 4-5 minutes to your desired brownness. The longer you cook it, the crunchier the outside.
9. Remove from the pan and eat or add to your other dishes!
Enjoy!

I can’t wait to try this! I love PF Chang’s Coconut Curry Vegetables with tofu, but couldn’t figure out how to make tofu like that at home! Thanks for the recipe!
