Try this yummy homemade flavored apple jam and enjoy some bread with homemade jam.
Peel and coarsely chop the apples. In a large thick-bottomed pan, add chopped apples and water. Cook over medium heat until apples are soft and most of the water is absorbed.
Add sugar, lemon juice, and optional spices. Cook over low-medium heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring every now and then.
Mash the apples with a potato masher to your required consistency. When the moisture is absorbed and the mixture starts to stick to the bottom, keep stirring the mixture with spatula. Check for sweetness; add more if desired.
Jam will be ready when, it becomes thick and forms like dough. It will take around 25-30 minutes. If you are not sure when to stop cooking, check the taste and you will know.
Turn off the heat and let it cool. Store in an airtight container.
Enjoy some bread with homemade apple jam.
