Tofu with a delightfully, exceptionally textured exterior. Perfect for drizzling with your favorite sauce or adding to a sandwich!
Drain the tofu and, if you have time, press it between some heavy objects in order to squeeze out some of the liquid. Pat dry.
Toss the remaining ingredients—except the egg—into a food processor. Process until the walnuts are pulverized and everything is well combined. Pour into a quart-sized plastic bag.
Preheat your oven on its broiler setting (the lower temperature one if there are two settings).
Slightly beat the egg in a small bowl.
Slice the tofu into slices about 1/2-inch thick; there should be 7 or so slices. One by one, coat the slices in egg on both sides. Place them one at a time into the plastic bag with the walnut mixture and shake until covered. Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
Broil the tofu on the top rack of your oven for 4-5 minutes per side. Keep checking on them to make sure they do not burn. Enjoy!
