Description

Absolutely no one will be able to tell that this deep-dish cookie pie is healthy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Garbanzo Beans
  • 1 cup Quick Oats
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • 1-½ cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Applesauce
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Blend everything (except the chips) very well in a food processor. Mix in chips, and pour into an oiled pan (I used a 10-inch springform pan, but you can use a smaller pan if you want a really deep pie.)

Cook at 350ºF for around 35 minutes. Let stand at least 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

I made this recipe yesterday. Subbed agave for the brown sugar. It is truly WONDERFUL! My husband, who is usually a skeptic about weird ingredients, loved this cookie pie. Thank you :-)

I hate leaving a bad rating but this pie didn’t turn out for me at all. I made it exactly as the recipe stated, used a 9″ springform pan and ended up cooking it for an hour. It never set up. The edges and a thin layer on top were the only pieces that even resembled a cookie. Those parts were delicious and I could taste the potential of this recipe (hence the 2 mitts). I am going to try again and experiment a bit to see if I can make it work.
