Description

You can make this stew using leftover grilled steak, if that ever happens to you.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 2 pounds Steak, Cubed, Or Stewing Beef Cubes
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Stewed Tomatoes
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Size) Mushroom Pieces With Juice
  • 1 can (5 1/2 Oz. Size) Tomato Paste
  • 1 whole Medium Onion, Chunked
  • 6 stalks Celery, Cut Large

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325ºF.

In a skillet, heat oil. Brown (no need to cook through) beef cubes in hot oil. Sprinkle with seasonings and toss to coat. Transfer to a 9×13 baking dish or similar covered casserole dish.

In a large bowl, stir remaining ingredients. Pour over meat. Cover and bake for 2 1/2 hours until very tender. Makes a complete meal when you serve it with crusty bread, or over boiled potatoes.

Note: If you have leftover grilled steak, simply cube the steak and add the remaining ingredients. Bake low and slow until tender.
