Description

In the winter months, chili is a great comfort food for cold days. Slow cooker chili is something you can quickly prepare in the morning and let cook all day. Who doesn’t love walking into a house that smells like chili after long and stressful day?

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 2 whole Bell Peppers, Diced
  • 1 whole Jalapeno, Diced
  • 1 whole Medium Onion, Diced
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Or Turkey
  • ¼ cups Chili Powder
  • 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Pinto And/or Dark Kidney Beans
  • 1 can (28 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup Water

Preparation

1. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bell peppers, jalapeño, and onions. Cook until softened.
2. Add the beef. Cook until beef us no longer pink, but not well done.
3. Add chili powder and coat the meat and vegetables. Transfer everything into the slow cooker.
4. Add beans, diced tomatoes (including juices), and tomato sauce. Top with water. Stir to mix.
5. Cook on high for 6 hours, or low for 8 hours.
