Description

Perfect for those soup and sandwich nights.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1  Medium Onion, Finely Chopped
  • ½ Tablespoons Or 2-3 Cloves, Chopped Garlic
  • 1 can (26 Oz. Size) Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 can (10.75 Oz. Size) Tomato Soup
  • 2 cans (8 Oz. Size) Pizza Sauce
  • 1 can (8 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
  • 3 cups Warm Water
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Chicken Soup Base, Such As Better Than Bouillon
  • 6 leaves Basil Finely Chopped
  • ½ teaspoons Dried Oregano
  • ½ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • Black Pepper To Taste
  • 2  Bay Leaves

Preparation

Heat an 8-quart Dutch oven or soup pot over medium high heat. Add butter and extra virgin olive oil. Add the onion and cook till soft, 5-10 minutes. Add garlic and cook till fragrant, 1-2 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients (except bay leaves) and mix well. Add bay leaves and bring to a boil. After a boil is reached, turn down heat to a simmer and cover pot. Simmer for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves and serve.
