A chunky, spicy split pea soup that’s perfect for a busy day. Stick everything in the crockpot and let it cook until dinnertime.
Combine all ingredients except the wine in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for a total of 8-10 hours. After about 7 hours add wine (if using). At this point you may also want to add more broth to get the consistency you desire. Continue cooking until done.
