Description

I saw this featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” and I just had to recreate it. It’s not your ordinary cheeseburger soup; it’s just as awesome as Guy said!

Ingredients

  • 4 dashes Steak Seasoning
  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 whole Onion, Diced
  • 32 ounces, fluid Chicken Broth
  • 1 can (10.75 Oz. Can) Cheese Soup
  • 1 pound Velveeta Cheese
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Salt And Pepper
  • 3 whole Tomatoes, Diced
  • ½ heads Lettuce, Shredded

Preparation

In a skillet over medium heat, season the beef and brown. Drain and set aside.

In a large soup pot, add butter and sauté the onions for a few minutes. Add the chicken broth, cheese soup, Velveeta and heavy whipping cream.

After the cheese is melted, add the beef. Season with salt and pepper and turn to medium low heat and let simmer for 20 minutes.

Add diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce, turn heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Serve.

This soup is so good. I have it cooking now and I keep tasting it. It might not make it to the table.

Oh my gosh, I am so glad you put this recipe on here! I definitely saw that episode and wanted to try this soup, but I never got around to it–so I’ll be trying yours for sure! ( ;
