This is by far the easiest marinade I’ve found for tri tip. You can use it on a roast or the steaks. It’s really easy to make for two or you can double it for a bigger family.
Place everything in a plastic bag with the meat and leave in the fridge overnight.
Let the meat sit out for 20 mintues before cooking.
In a very hot skillet, sear both sides of the meat over high heat, then lower heat to medium and continue to cook until desired doneness (yes I’m using the word “doneness”).
Let the meat sit 5 mintues before cutting, then enjoy!
Note: if desired, you can boil the leftover marinade and then spoon over the meat.
