Swiss steak with a twist.
Combine salt, pepper, and flour and pound into steak. Brown slowly on both sides in hot oil. Pour tomato sauce and pizza sauce (I drain off excess oil first) over meat. Top with onion slices. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Transfer contents of skillet into a baking dish, cover, and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until steak is fork tender.
Note: at the last 5 minutes of cooking time, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top, and finish baking. That is, if you like cheese on your Swiss steak.
