One of my husband’s favorite recipes from his mom.
Cut a small piece off the end off the hard rolls and scoop out the insides (easier than it sounds). Place the bread from the insides of the rolls in a large mixing bowl; add remaining ingredients. Mix with your mixer. Stuff the buns with the mixture. Place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray, and bake at 300 degrees for one hour.
Note: this is the recipe as originally written. When I made it when my kids were growing up, I stuffed the buns a little fuller and made about 8 of them instead of 12.
