I love this recipe! So easy, and the cook time is all walk-away.
I usually make Smitten Kitchen’s Light Brioche Burger Buns and fill them with this delicious beef.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium high heat until just smoking. Brown the roast on all sides until nice and crusty. Remove the meat and deglaze the pan with 1 to 2 cups of water.
Add the soy sauce, bouillon cube, herbs, and deglazing liquid to the slow cooker with the meat. Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours or until the meat shreds easily with a fork. Serve on rolls or crusty bread with broth for dipping.
Optional:
Add 1 to 2 sliced onions to slow cooker.
Top sandwiches with swiss cheese.
