The ketchup is spicy, the buns are sweet, it combines to create the perfect juicy bite! This is my new favorite recipe for my grill this summer!
Put the ground beef in a mixing bowl. Mix the salt, pepper, anchi chili powder, smoked paprika, and panko bread crumbs with the ground beef. Form into 6 even-sized balls. Pat them a little to make each ball into a patty, keeping it thick. Press your thumb into the middle of each patty to help them cook evenly. Set aside as your grill heats up.
Heat your grill to medium heat.
Finely chop the chipotle peppers. Mix them into the ketchup along with the liquid smoke and brown sugar. Set aside.
Toast rolls on a griddle, browning on both sides of the rolls. Set rolls aside.
Grill the burgers for about 5 minutes per side. At about 1 minute before removing them from the grill, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty, close the lid and let it melt. Remove them from the grill to a clean plate.
Spread spicy ketchup on both cut sides of the rolls and place the cheddar patty between, secure with a toothpick You can add lettuce and tomato if you would like, but you do not need it!
