Succulent NY Strip steaks topped with a caramelized onion and carrot creamed sauce.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Meanwhile, lightly season steaks front and back with salt and pepper (or your preferred seasoning) and place in hot skillet.
Cook on both sides until browned and your desired doneness. I myself like my steaks medium and cooked about 6 minutes on each side. Then remove the steaks and set aside.
Add onions, carrots and garlic into hot skillet with oil and steak drippings. Reduce heat to medium. Be sure to gather drippings from the bottom of the pan to mix into the vegetable mixture. Saute until onions are transparent and carrots soften. Be careful not to burn the garlic!
Add in the cream cheese. Stir continuously until everything is covered with the creamy cream cheese. Once cheese is melted, pour mixture over steaks. Garnish with fresh basil.
