My teenage sons and their friends LOVE this recipe. It’s very easy and great for football parties! I’ve made it many times and it’s always a hit. Adjust the ingredients to your taste. You can “healthy it up” by using ground turkey, low-fat cheese and turkey bacon.
In large mixing bowl combine first 9 ingredients until well mixed.
Put the two halves of your French bread, crust side down on a cookie sheet. Divide the meat mixture into two parts and spread onto the cut side of each half of the French bread .
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes until meat is no longer pink. Approximately 10 minutes before completion, remove from oven and add the bacon crumbles and grated cheese. Then return to oven and complete baking to melt the cheese. Depending on WHO you are feeding, cut into large “hunks” or smaller slices and serve ‘em up!
