Description

Tri-tip steaks cut into big chunks marinate in this heavenly (3-ingredient) sauce and come off the grill juicy and delicious! Fantastic atop pasta or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ pound Steak, I Used Tri Tip
  • ¼ cups Honey
  • 2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 dash Red Pepper Flakes

Preparation

Cut the steaks into big chunks; depending of the size of your steaks, you might get 2 to 3 chunks.

In a bowl combine the honey, vinegar and pepper flakes. Place the steak chunks in a smaller, flat-bottomed dish and cover with 3/4 of the sauce mixture; cover the dish and put in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Remove and flip the meat over and return to the fridge for another 30 minutes. Reserve the rest of the sauce.

Heat a grill pan over high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the chunks of meat. Glaze each piece with the remaining sauce, flip the chunks and glaze the other side. Depending on the size of your chunks, you’ll want to cook the meat for 3 to 5 minutes on each side.

Once the steaks have reached the desired level of doneness, remove them from the pan and let rest for several minutes. I serve these with pasta or mashed potatoes and roasted veggies.

Notes:

My boyfriend loves the sauce and uses whatever is left over from the glazing as a dipping sauce.

My mom doesn’t like things super sweet so when I make this for her, I use a little less honey and a little more vinegar; you can add a little at a time till you reach the flavor you like.
