This is so yummy and a great use for leftovers stews of any kind.
Combine flour, shortening and water in a bowl and mix together well. Divide dough. I used a large deep pie dish. Roll dough to a size that will fit your dish, then place the first half in the bottom of the dish. Add beef stew (or any other stew) to the dish, spread evenly. Roll out the other half of the dough and place on top of the stew. Fold together and pinch edges to close edges. Make a couple of small slits on top. Using a pastry brush, brush the entire top with milk. Bake at 350ºF for 1 1/2 hours. Enjoy!

What a great idea! We love stew but I always make enough we are eating it for 2-3 meals. This way we can have stew one night and on another night Stew Pot Pie to change it up a bit. Thanks
