We received the “Dinner For Two” cookbook as a wedding present 40 years ago. This quickly became our favorite recipe and still is today. It’s easy, quick and delicious.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet. When done drain the grease and stir in the flour, salt, pepper and mushrooms. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the can of soup. Simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes. Stir in the sour cream and heat through.
I always serve this over rice, but you can change it up by using whatever pasta you love.

Awesome! My kiddos love the HB in a box (only the stroganoff flavor) but my husband will not touch it. Last night HB was requested and I decided to do this instead…. BIG HIT! Even with my husband. I used egg noodles (cooked them and then tossed them in last).
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE BOX! This was so easy. Thanks!

This was delicious! I also skipped the mushrooms and I added some chicken broth to thin out the sauce when it got too thick. This has definitely made our list of meals to make again!

I made this last night, it was really tasty! We arent mushroom eaters, so I left those out and just blended the soup like I do for other things that call for mushroom soup. =D Still a wonderful, quick and easy, go-to meal that everyone in the family ate. Thanks!
