My mom came up with this hearty recipe years ago to feed our men when they were out working and didn’t have time to come in for lunch or supper. These are delicious and super easy to make, take and eat. They can also be cooked in a campfire. When taking them to the boys I double wrap them in Flour sack towels to keep them warm.
Preheat oven to 375 Degrees.
On a piece of foil place the following ingredients in this order:
Slice the Onions into 8 slices place one slice in each packet.
Slice potatoes adding one to each packet top with 1/3 cup peas.
Shape hamburger into 8 patties and place one on top (raw) with a slice of cheese and salt and pepper.
Wrap tightly and bake for 1 1/2 Hours on cookie sheet or until burger is done and potatoes are tender. If cooking on campfire-Double Wrap with foil.

I love foil dinners! We make these when camping and cook them in the coals. I’ve never added cheese, so I’ll have to try that next time. Delish with ketchup on the side. Thanks for reminding me of these!
