Description

Super easy steak tacos. You will wonder why you ever used ground beef.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole 8 Oz. Flat Iron Steaks
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 8 whole 6 Inch Flour Tortillas
  • 1 cup Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend
  • ¼ cups Sour Cream (optional Topping)
  • 2 cups Red Cabbage Cored And Shredded (or Prepackaged Cole Slaw Mix)
  • ¼ cups Fresh Lime Juice (for 1/4 Cup You'll Need About 3 Limes)
  • 1 whole Clove Of Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • ½ Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 dash Salt And Pepper, Or To Taste

Preparation

Slaw:
In a medium sized bowl, combine slaw mix or cabbage, lime juice, garlic, mayonnaise and sugar; season with salt and pepper. Let stand in the refrigerator until needed.

Steak:
Heat broiler to high, with rack approximately 4 inches from the heat. Line the bottom of a broiler pan with foil. Season both sides of steaks with cumin and salt and pepper to taste (you can add any other seasoning of your choice). Place steaks on broiler pan and broil 6 to 8 minutes for medium rare. Transfer steaks to a cutting board; cover loosely with foil, and let rest 5 minutes. Slice thinly crosswise.

Assemble tacos by adding steak slices into the tortillas, topped with slaw and other toppings that sound good (I used cheese and sour cream).
