This recipe was easy to adapt to my group’s tastes. It makes a great meal on its own, but can still be enjoyed in a number of ways ranging from dip to sandwich filling, even as a topper for Ramen on those lazy days.
Note: I’ve made this recipe using Budweiser, Blue Moon, and Asahi. I’ve found that I prefer the flavor using the dry Japanese beer to the other two.
Begin heating your ground beef in a large skillet. Rough chop your onion and pepper and add it to the beef, cooking until the meat is browned, the peppers and onions are soft, and in the onions’ case, becoming translucent.
Drain the meat and veggies of their fat and pour them into a large pot.
Mix in the rest of the ingredients and stir them a bit to incorporate them.
Then bring the entire pot to a boil reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for 45 minutes before ladling yourself a large spoonful and enjoying.
