Description

A stunning beef dish that will change your life.

Ingredients

  • Olive Oil
  • 1 package Mushrooms
  • 1 clove Garlic, Crushed
  • ¼ pieces Onion, Sliced
  • 1 pound Thinly Sliced Beef Strips
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 1-½ cup Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 pinch Paprika

Preparation

Wash and slice mushrooms. Sauté mushrooms in olive oil and crushed garlic. The mushrooms are cooked when they cook down, and release their water. When they are ready, set aside. (Be ready for the incredibly delicious smell that will fill your kitchen.)

In another frying pan, sauté onion and olive oil. When onion is lightly browned, add thin strips of beef and stir for a few minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

As the beef begins to cook, add balsamic vinegar, add the cooked mushrooms. Add heavy cream and let simmer about 5 minutes, mixing together. Add pinch of paprika.

(I learned to make this at a cooking class in Rome. It’s the real deal…and it will change your life.)

I usually serve it alone. You could certainly serve it over pasta or rice. I actually served it as a course before a pasta primavera.

The vinegar is pretty strong and you can certainly use less if you wish.

Is the measurement correct on the vinegar? 1 and 1/2 cups? I made it with that amount and the vinegar was overpowering. I may try this again with less to see if we like it more.

what kind of steak do you usually use? This sounds delicious and it uses things I almost always have. Also do you serve it with anything, like a starch (pasta, rice) or just all on it’s own?
