Cooking a turkey doesn’t have to be hard! Once you get the hang of it, it’s really quite simple!
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Place a rack into a roasting pan or gather some onions, celery and carrots to put in the bottom of the roasting pan. You don’t want the turkey sitting directly on the roasting pan.
Place turkey onto the rack (or on top of the vegetables) and blot the turkey with paper towels until dry.
Rub the turkey with oil, salt and pepper. Stuff with lemons and onions.
Bake in the preheated oven for 3-5 hours, depending on how large your turkey is, tenting the turkey with foil 2/3’s of the way through. The turkey is done when it is golden brown and the juices run clear. Using a meat thermometer, the breast meat should register at 170 degrees F and the thigh meat at 175-180 degrees F. Let turkey rest for 15 minutes after removing it from the oven. Then carve and enjoy!
