Description

My husband was very skeptical the first time I made these cookies after I had told him what I had done, but he agreed to try them anyway. His response? “These are incredible!” (Sorry for the terrible picture, camera phone does not do them justice)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • ¾ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Honey
  • ½ cups Butter, Softened
  • ½ cups Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 whole Egg (or 2 Egg Whites)
  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips Or Any Other Candy Of Your Choice

Preparation

Heat oven to 375ºF.

Mix sugars, honey, butter, applesauce, vanilla and egg (or two egg whites) in a large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips or other candy of your choice. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool slightly; remove from the cookie sheet. Cool on a wire rack.
