Description

These are very popular at wedding receptions, also for Christmas. Use different colored icing with various kinds of sprinkles for decorations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Soft Butter
  • 1-¼ cup Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Dairy Sour Cream
  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Extract

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.

Add eggs and beat well.

Stir together flour, baking soda and baking powder.

Add alternately to butter mixture with sour cream.

Stir in lemon extract last.

Drop by teaspoons on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 min. at 350. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Make thin icing of powdered sugar and milk. You can color the icing with food color. Dip tops of cookies into icing. Sprinkle tops with colored sprinkles, finely chopped nuts, or leave plain.

Allow icing to dry before storing cookies.
