A great way to use some of those extra apples we get in the fall!
1. Beat butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and blend thoroughly.
2. Stir together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
3. Stir half the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, apples and raisins, then stir in remaining half of dry ingredients. Mix well.
4. Drop by tablespoonfuls 1 1/2 inches apart onto a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove cookies to racks and ice when still warm.
5. To make the glaze, combine powdered sugar, butter and vanilla. Add milk until it reaches your preferred consistency. Drizzle or spread icing on top of the cookies.

When I tried these, I had trouble with the texture – I should’ve added a bit more flour. I added nuts after the first batch and that helped firm them up. Very yummy – very sweet!

I made these and really liked them. I didn’t put the glaze on and they were plenty yummy without it. They’re also super soft, which I like.
