These are not the oatmeal scotchies that many of you grew up making. These are crispy yet chewy butterscotch flavored cookies that are AMAZING when dipped in milk or coffee!
Heat 10 Tablespoons of butter in a small pan over medium heat. Allow to bubble, then brown a bit. Remove from heat, add in the remaining 2 Tablespoons of butter and stir to melt.
In a large bowl, add browned butter and brown sugar. Mix on medium speed, add salt, eggs and vanilla. Once nicely creamed, add flour, baking soda and baking powder.
In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup brown sugar with the 1/4 cup granulated sugar.
Using a small scoop (or or just pinch off into approximate one inch balls), roll the batter into a ball and then roll the ball in sugars.
Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 10 minutes. Enjoy (and don’t forget the milk)!!!

Thanks so much for checking! They didn’t flatten out and were pretty bland, but I’ve tasted food that was less appealing! Ready to try them again, but it will have to wait on tomorrow’s trip to the grocery store, since I used my last egg last night. I’m looking forward to reporting much better success.

Oh my gosh, I am so very sorry. I just checked and apparantly I had meant to type in 1 3/4 cup and it left out the 4. Yeah, I imagine those didn’t taste very good at all!!!

Just wondering–is the first brown sugar amount correct? I tried these tonight and they didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped. Thanks!
