Description

A sweet little glaze for flavorful grilled salmon.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Salmon Fillets, Individual Serving Size OR 1 Large Salmon Fillet
  • Glaze Ingredients
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter (or Replace With Additional Olive Oil)
  • 2 teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • HONEY-LEMON Ingredients
  • ¼ cups Honey
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • SPICY SOY Ingredients
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Ginger

Preparation

In a saucepan over low heat, stir together glaze ingredients. Add desired additional ingredients. Heat until sugars are dissolved. Reserve half the glaze to serve with the plated salmon. Use the remaining glaze to marinate salmon fillets for 30 minutes prior to grilling.

If using a food-safe cedar grilling plank: cedar planks need to be soaked covered in water for a minimum of 4 hours before using. For best results, preheat the grill to medium (400 F). Place the plank on the hot grill for exactly 5 minutes to preheat. Flip the plank and immediately place the meat on the hot side. For an everyday alternative to the cedar plank method, use a double layer of extra strong aluminum foil to make a disposable “pan” on which to grill the fish. Spray foil with cooking spray and place fish on top. Drizzle with 2 tbsp. additional glaze. Grill for 20-30 minutes (no need to turn the fish) over medium heat, or until done. Try to grill without peeking.
