Description

This sauce gives you sweet and sticky, with just enough heat. The heat isn’t just spicy, but it also adds has a more interesting and deep spicy flavor. I guess you could describe it as “sophisticated heat.”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frank's® RedHot® Sauce (original)
  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter, Unsalted
  • 3 Tablespoons Pickapeppa Sauce
  • 1-½ teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper, Ground Fine

Preparation

Note: If you don’t have, or can’t find Pickapeppa sauce, just use 2 tablespoons of ketchup and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, with just a pinch of ground allspice or cloves.

Combine all of the ingredients in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.

Bring the mixture just to a boil, whisking occasionally.

Remove the pan from the heat and let the sauce cool.

Brush on the chicken of your choice, serve and enjoy!

(Makes about 2 cups.)

OMG! My hubby Loved this sauce! He puts Franks on everything and is very pickey with what he eats! Nothing sweet on his wings! But He LOVED this sauce! Thanks for sharing it!

What is pikapeppa sauce? Is there a substitute?

Perfect! The heat is spot on, has a great balance of flavor. The family loved it and Hubby doesn’t like hot. Saved some of the sauce for tomorrow’s grilled Shrimp, that should be awesome. Thanks for a great spice it up sauce on anything grilled.

Found the Frank’s sauce (which is a new favorite for my 9 y/o daughter!) and made the chicken sauce. My husband thought it would be too spicy, but ended up loving it the most! Easy to make and super good. Thank you!

“Sophisticated heat” doesn’t begin to describe your sauce…it’s addictive! The subtle blend of heat and sweet is a winning combo. I followed your recipe to the letter and made a batch to brush on grilled chicken tomorrow, but decided to try a “whisper'” of it on my grilled salmon tonight … OH MY!
