Description

This is one of my mother’s “Recipe Binder” recipes, and as soon as I read it I cracked up and howled. On a sheet of aged, yellowed paper, someone had typed: “Mystery Rolls: 1 can flaky biscuits. 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese. 1 stick butter. Cut biscuits into fourths. Melt butter and cheese on a pan. Roll biscuits in cheese and butter. Bake ’til done.” I chuckled when I read it, but they wound up being delicious!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Blue Cheese
  • 2 sticks Butter
  • 2 cans Refrigerator Biscuits, Flaky

Preparation

Combine butter and cheese on baking pan. Place into 350 oven for a couple of minutes, or until butter is melted. Remove from oven and stir. Cut biscuits into fourths, then toss in butter mixture. Bake on same pan (or different, if you prefer) for 8 to 12 minutes, or until golden. Eat warm.

How can something so simple be so yummy and addictive?

Try adding some minced garlic and a splash of lemon juice to the butter and cheese before rolling the biscuits in it – delish!! My daughter will sit with the pan and DARE anyone to come near.

Could you substitute another cheese? I mean would the consistency of cheddar be ok? I have never used blue cheese.

I made these a couple of months ago for my mother and grandmother.. I knew they’d love them. What I didn’t know was that the all the leftovers would be eaten straight from the fridge by my boyfriend! So yummy!

These were so delish and so easy to make. I tried keeping several in a zip-lock bag and eating the next day, but they didn’t have the same crisp! Either way, a great snack!
