Sweet and tangy sauce takes meatloaf to a whole new level.
1. Combine ground beef, onion, bread crumbs, milk eggs, sage, and parsley in a large mixing bowl.
2. Use hands to mix until combined. Add salt and pepper or any other seasonings you like in your meatloaf. (A dash of Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, chili powder, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, grill seasonings all work well here.)
3. Pour meat mixture into a loaf pan OR form into a loaf and place in the middle of a broiler pan.
4. To make the sauce, combine ketchup, mustard, sugar and nutmeg in a small bowl. Stir to combine. Adjust seasonings to your taste. If you like spicy food, add some cayenne powder here.
5. Pour half the sauce over the loaf.
6. Bake for approximately 45 minutes at 375F.
7. Cover the finished meatloaf with the remaining sauce just before serving.
