One of my favourites as a kid. Its great as a main course with dinner or as an hors d’oeuvre for guests.
1. Combine beef, egg and breadcrumbs and form into meatballs. Optional: spices can be added to the meat, such as garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Place meatballs in a single layer in a glass baking dish.
2. Combine grape jelly and chili sauce and pour over meatballs.
3. Cover with foil and bake at 400F for about an hour or until the meat is fully cooked. Stir the meatballs halfway through cooking.

We cook this one on the stove and use the precooked frozen meatballs. The kids love it!

oops- I forgot to mention. I cook this on low for anywhere from 4-10 hours. (when I am at work). 10 hours makes very tender but savory meatballs, the less cooking time the firmer the meatball. I find 4 hours on low is necessary to get the flavor to penetrate the meatball.

I was going to post this- a great favorite in our house! I use 1 12 oz jar to each 6 oz of jelly (I have heard this works with apricot jam also but have not tried it).
I cook this in my slow cooker and use precooked frozen meatballs. Great over sticky rice or as an appetizer!

Question–is the cooking time about an hour at 400?
I’ve seen this recipe cooked in a crockpot too. It’s yummy!
