Description

Two and a half years in search of the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. Alas, I have found it.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ½ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • 10-⅔ Tablespoons Butter, Melted And Cooled Completely
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1-½ cup Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 6 ounces, weight Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream sugars, butter, and egg together in large mixing bowl or a stand mixer. Add in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Lastly, stir in chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.

Drop by rounded tablespoons (I use a small ice cream scoop) onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light golden brown, 11-13 minutes. Remove while still slightly soft and let cool on the pan. This will yield a chewy cookie. Yields 18 cookies.

This is the easiest and one of the best chocolate chip cookie recipes I have ever tried. I will have to double or triple this recipe each time I make it because my family, friends and co-workers will be fighting over them! Thanks for sharing!

Really – no vanilla? Is this a misprint? I am getting ready to make them and I noticed no vanilla

Delicious! My baking time was about 8 to 10 minutes. Every oven is different and baking times always have room for adjustment. These kept well while the lasted and were super yummy. My favorite things about this recipe are that it’s super simple and most of the time I have the ingredients on hand! Definitely earned a spot in my recipe book.

I have a CC recipe that I LOVE, but my husband prefers a flatter cookie. This was a great recipe for just that! I also added some vanilla, but I also think these would have had a good flavor without it. As someone already mention, be careful with the cooking time. Better to be slighty under than over, imho. :)

Made these with melted margarine (was out of butter). I doubled the recipe. The double recipe made a total of 49 cookies (I used the PC medium scoop) Baked cookies have a diameter of about 2 3/4 inches. The bake time does make a big difference, so watch carefully. The batter was not as thick as I had anticipated (but that may be because of the margarine instead of butter) These cookies are very good. A nice crisp outside with a tender chewy middle. They are a little flatter than my usual cookies, but again that may be because of the margarine.

I really liked these cookies, although next time I will add 2 x the amount of chocolate chips. Thanks :)
