Description

Yummy meatloaf mixed with brown sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Lean Ground Beef
  • ½ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Ketchup
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 2 slices Bread
  • 3 dashes Salt
  • 3 dashes Pepper
  • 3 dashes Sage
  • 3 drops Ketchup, For Topping

Preparation

Mix brown sugar and ketchup to form a thick paste. Add brown sugar mixture to ground beef a little at a time until combined. You do not want it too moist. Add egg and crumbs from 2 bread slices. Mix until combined. Add the dashes of salt, pepper, and sage (optional).
Form into a loaf.

Add to your ovenware (I spray mine with non-stick spray first). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove and top with ketchup (it’s also nice with a brown sugar/ketchup paste rather than just ketchup).
Return to the oven for an additional 20 minutes.

Serve with mashed potatoes. Also wonderful the next day for sandwiches.

This was good. The brown sugar added a nice sweetness. I used about half of the brown sugar/catsup mix in the meatloaf and put a few spoons on top of it, and I used half beef and half pork. Very good and simple.
