Simple to make, like a flower. Try it.
Place flour, powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl. Mix with your fingers. Knead until it forms a dough. Slowly add vegetable oil and mix. Add food colouring and mix. Dough should not be sticky or crumbly.
Portion dough into 10 small balls. Cover with a tea towel and let rest 2–5 minutes. Then slice them into quarters and assemble on a lined baking sheet, using 3 pieces for each flower so that each flower has 3 petals. Take some of the remaining dough and roll into smaller balls. Place in the middle of the petals to complete the flower.
Bake at 250ºF for 15 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Remove from oven, transfer cookies to a cooling rack. Serve and enjoy.
