This dish is pure comfort food.
In a large pot, boil macaroni according to package directions. Drain, return to pot, and set aside.
In a medium bowl or measuring cup, combine tomatoes, tomato sauce, sugar, paprika, oregano, caraway seed, salt and cayenne pepper. Set aside.
In a large skillet with a bit of oil, saute onion, celery, and garlic over medium heat. Be careful not to burn the garlic or it will become bitter. When celery is tender, remove the mixture with a slotted spoon and place in a bowl. Set aside.
Cook ground beef until no pink remains. Season if desired. Drain fat.
Add beef mixture, sauteed veggies, and tomato mixture to the pot of macaroni. Stir and simmer over low heat for 30-60 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Dish tastes even better the next day!
