Description

This homemade sugar-free black sesame walnut hot cereal is warm, nutritious, and healthy. It is very easy and quick to make at home with only five ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces, weight Black Sesame Seeds
  • 5 ounces, weight Walnuts
  • 5 ounces, weight Sweet Rice Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Pure Stevia Extract Powder
  • ½ cups Water

Preparation

1. Heat sauté pan over medium heat. Roast sesame seeds and walnuts for approximately 4 minutes. Stir continuously to prevent burning. Adjust heat if necessary. Set roasted sesame seeds and walnuts aside.
2. In same sauté pan, roast sweet rice flour until rice flour turns slightly brown, approximately 5 minutes.
3. Let roasted sesame seeds, walnuts, and sweet rice flour cool for 5 minutes. Transfer into food processor and add stevia. Blend until you have a fine powder. Use a rubber spatula to fold down mixture and pulse intermittently if necessary.
4. Transfer powder into an airtight container and store in refrigerator to keep it fresh.
5. To make hot cereal, in a saucepan, bring 1/2 cup water to boil. Add 2 1/2 tablespoons cereal powder into hot water immediately. Stir continuously. Let cereal stand for 2 minutes to thicken. Serve warm.

Note: You can also replace half the amount of sweet rice flour with oat flour (gluten-free if desired) to increase the health benefits.
