Description

This recipe makes a nice big bowl that’s perfect for potlucks, picnics, work-functions-where-you-all-have-to-bring-something, etc.! It’s cheap AND tasty!

Ingredients

  • 1 head Green Cabbage, Chopped (or Pre-chopped Bag)
  • 4 whole Green Onions, Chopped Thinly
  • 2 cups Cubed Chicken, Cooked
  • ½ cups Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • ½ cups Toasted Slivered Almonds (can Also Use Chopped)
  • 1 package (3 Oz.) Chicken Flavor Top Ramen (noodles Only, Uncooked & Crushed)
  • ⅓ cups Rice Vinegar
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 4 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 dash Black Pepper
  • 1 package Chicken Flavor Top Ramen Seasoning

Preparation

SALAD:
In a large bowl, combine cabbage, green onions and chicken. Toss together until mixed well.

DRESSING:
In a small container (I use a small tupperware bowl with a lid in case I don’t want to put it on right away), mix rice vinegar, oil, sugar, salt, pepper and the Top Ramen seasoning packet. Once combined, set aside.

When ready to eat, add the sesame seeds, almonds and crushed Top Ramen noodles to the dry ingredients. Mix well and top it all with the dressing!

Voila!

Notes:

I usually use half vegetable oil and half olive oil just to be a little healthier.

You can also sub Splenda for sugar (use about 6 packets).

I make this a lot without chicken, and it’s just as good!

This salad is a favorite of mine as well! I never thought to add chicken to it, but I will definitely have to try it now and make it a real meal rather than a side salad!

My grandmother made a version of this when I was a child! I never had the recipe, so it’s so good to see it on here! Thank you for posting!
