This delicious NY strip steak has a simple rub that gives the meat a subtle kick. The flavor from the sauteed mushrooms and onions completes this dish, and any leftovers make for a great topping for burgers later in the week.
1. Rub steaks on both sides with ground pepper, salt, and minced garlic.
2. Use 1 tablespoon of olive oil to coat a pan. Add sliced onions and mushrooms. Cook on medium heat until onions are softened, about 3-4 minutes. Cover the pan for 2 minutes and continue to cook until the mushrooms are softened.
3. Add Worchestershire sauce to pan and mix with the onions and mushrooms and let simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Apply cooking spray to a grilling pan. Place steaks on pan and cook on medium-high heat for 5 minutes on each side for medium.
5. Remove steaks from pan and serve. Smother steaks with mushrooms and onions. Enjoy!
