Soft, chewy dark chocolate chip cookies that are spiked with red wine!
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
In a medium bowl combine, the flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Stir and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the sugars and butter until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla and Merlot. Once combined, gradually add in the dry ingredients and mix well after each addition. Fold in chocolate chips and spoon out by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a prepared baking pan, leaving 2 inches or so in between.
Bake in the preheated 375ºF oven for 8-10 minutes. Let cool slightly before transferring to a wire cooling rack.

I like using a silpat. If you grease you may end up with a crispy edge, not that it would be terrible if you did., but parchment would also work!

I must be completely blind, but I don’t see on this recipe how to “prepare” the pans – grease them? Parchment paper? I’m trying this recipe today, and hoping that greasing the pan will be sufficient.
