Description

My hubby HATES Sloppy Joes. They are too sweet and tomato-y according to him, but he gobbled these up! These sandwiches have a nice tangy flavor and are easily made up in the crock pot.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 1 whole Onion, Chopped
  • ¼ cups Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Red Pepper Sauce (like Tabasco)
  • 12 ounces, fluid Chili Sauce
  • 8 whole Wheat Sandwich Buns

Preparation

Cook beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until meat is browned and onions are softened. Drain off the grease.

In a 3 to 4 quart slow cooker, mix beef and remaining ingredients (everything except buns!).

Cover and cook on low heat setting for 4 to 6 hours. Serve on buns.

Thanks! I assumed you meant the glass bottle but wanted to make sure. :)

Chili sauce like the glass bottle that Heinz makes. Sorry I wasn’t more clear, I can tell I am from a small town, because I have never heard of Castleberry Chili suace! LOL :)

This may sound like a stupid question but when you say Chili sauce do you mean like the glass bottle of chili sauce that Heinz makes or do you mean like a can of Castleberry Chili sauce like for hot dogs? Thanks! :)

It was very good! My dad really liked it, and had two and 1/2 full servings of it. ;) Great recipe!
